Abstract

The linguistic planning applied by each state through the execution of certain linguistic policies responds mainly to interests of a nationalist nature, framed in economic, educational, and mainly migratory policies. For this reason, the present work carries out a comparative study of two cases, reflected in two North American states: Arizona and Texas. These two cases were selected because they respond to different linguistic policies in the treatment of migrants; However, through this study, it was possible to notice that despite responding to opposing language policies, in the background of them, both states apply a similar language planning.
